Weight training exercise

One of the best ways to keep muscles healthy and strong is through exercises called strength training—sometimes known as weight lifting or resistance training.

Weight training stimulates muscle growth. They place the most stress on the body and usually require many muscles to perform the movement. Weight lifting is a great exercise for losing weight because it will build muscle and muscle burns fat.

The more muscle the person has the more fat his body burns every day. It is easy weight lifting, such as with 5- or 10-pound weights, and limit this to about 20 minutes a day, every other day. Alternate walking and weight lifting during the week - take Sunday Off.

Metabolism plays a huge role in controlling weight, exercising raises body metabolism and helps to stay fit. Weight training is a type of (resistance) training to increase the strength and size of skeletal muscles primarily using bars, dumbbells and/or other equipment. Weight training is necessary for sports like bodybuilding, weightlifting and powerlifting where strength, power, and/or muscle mass are necessary.

Studies at Tufts University have shown that weight training is one of the best ways to fight the weakness and frailty that can come with age. Done regularly, strength training builds bone and muscle and helps to preserve strength, independence, and energy.

Resistance exercise

Resistance exercise is any form of active exercise in which dynamic or static muscle contraction is resisted by an outside force applied manually or mechanically.

Resistance exercise fuels body’s natural fat-burning cycle. Human growth hormone burns more fat and builds more muscle, which makes it even easier for body to burn more fat.

The mode of exercise in a resistance exercise program refers to the form of exercise, the type of muscle contraction that occurs, and the manner in which the exercise is carried out.

Resistance exercise improves the strength, power and endurance of muscles.  It builds muscular strength, definition and tone.

In the process, it also improves body posture. Most important, lifting weights accelerates body metabolism.

Free weights, machines with stacked weights or hydraulic resistance and elastic bands can be used for resistance.

Mechanical resistance exercise is a form of active-resistive exercise in which resistance is applied though the use of equipment or mechanical apparatus.

The amount of resistance can be measured quantitatively and incrementally progressed over time.

Resistance exercise using resistance bands and weights must be part of workout routine. The more lean muscle mass body have, the higher body metabolism.

Weight training exercise

Many people weight train to improve their athletic performance. Others weight train to improve their physical appearance.

Harvard scientist study published in Journal of the American Medical Association shown that the men who include weight training in their workout routines for just 30 minutes each weeks reduce their risk of heart disease by 23 percent compared to those not training with weights.

Weight training is actually is an efficient form of exercise. With weight training, a muscle group can be isolated and worked very hard in an extremely short time.

Some weight train specifically for the health benefits to the muscles and bones.

During the aging process, strength and muscle mass decline. A weight training program can stave off some of the effects of aging. Anybody, regardless of age, weight, or gender can improve physical fitness and ensure better health for the future.

All the major muscles in the body can be exercised in 15 to 20 minutes. It is important for adults to continue weight training for life.

Long –term studies have tested its ability to prevent health problem. It’s cleat that conditions as varied as back pain, heart disease, arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity and insomnia can be partly managed by strength training and other exercise regimes.
